This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting magnetic manipulatives to increase my students' understanding of important math concepts. Their magnetic nature will make it ideal for whole group instruction on our classroom rug where students can easily see and build their understanding of important math concepts on our whiteboard. I am requesting a set of base-10 blocks to increase student understanding of ones, tens, and hundreds, as well as strategies for counting. I will also request a set for fractions, so students can visualize how partitions impact the sizes of different fractions.
These magnetic math manipulatives will make learning visual, tactile, and interesting for my students.
