This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at my elementary school are all eager to learn and excited about learning. Especially observing and experiencing science.

My school is a Title I school, which means the majority of the students come from low socio-economic homes.

Many of them have not had life experiences, such as going to museums. They rely on these hands on experiences from school. The teachers at our school try very hard to give each child these experiences needed to be successful in their future. However, due to many budget cuts, sometimes the needed materials aren't here.

My Project

The variety of magnets that I am requesting may seem like a small request, however, they can provide about one hundred students with opportunities to experiment and make observations about magnetic force. When our school was first built, these materials were purchased for the building, however, over the years, the magnets are no longer strong and usable. Our second grade students deserve materials that will allow them to be fully involved and engaged in our science lessons. They need to have contact with the materials in order to fully understand the concept.

The donation from you will provide one hundred second grade students with materials for hands on experimentation.

These materials will last for many years, so will impact hundreds of second grade students. This donation will impact six second grade classes, and help the teachers provide opportunities for these students.
