Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 2nd-grade students love learning. I love teaching my 2nd-grade students. Most of my students are second language learners. They have limited support at home due to language barriers but enjoy learning and are excited to grow as readers and writers. My school is a Title I school. I currently teach an EIP (Early Intervention Program) class which is a class of lower learners to help differentiate and meet their individual needs to help catch them up academically.
My Project
These letters will help my students build words to help them learn to read and write new words based on their learning needs. Using hands-on materials help 2nd language learners touch letters and manipulate letters to help read and write new words to help them grow as readers and writers. These letters will be used during our daily phonics lessons to help students learn to spell and read words that will help them become better readers and writers. Students love using hands-on materials. By giving each student their own class set will allow me to differentiate word lessons to meet my students' individual needs.
