This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are an eager and energetic group of Kindergarteners who love to learn! We are a Title I school located in Philadelphia. Our classroom is a safe haven where we can learn and grow together. We try our best and want so much to learn and make our teacher and families proud.
Many students are English Language Learners experiencing their first school days immersed in a foreign language.
As you can imagine, this can be a difficult transition for many. We learn and grow together every day!
My Project
These Magna-Tiles will give the students a chance to build and explore magnetism and the mechanics of building a structure. This will allow students to work together to solve how they will build a viable structure.
These tiles are a fun way to implement science and math while building up language and teamwork skills.
Students love materials that seem like toys and these fit that bill. The students get so caught up in "playing" that they don't even realize all that they are learning at the same time. Please consider donating to bring this great addition to our ESL friendly classroom.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
