When students enter my class, it is often their very first school experience. They are boys and girls from very diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and abilities. Our classroom community welcomes all who enter to grow with us as we read, sing, dance, paint, share, eat, and learn.
Throughout the year we have many celebrations to recognize holidays, birthdays, and the wonderful accomplishments of our students.
My goal, as a teacher, is to expose all of my students to new and exciting materials and programs, regardless of their needs or backgrounds, in order to spark interest and creativity!
My Project
In my pre-k classroom, the students explore six interdisciplinary thematic units of study throughout the year. These units include many hands-on and creative activities, done independently or with peers.
Since my boys and girls are on greatly varying levels in communication, fine motor development and social-emotional skills, I need to make sure they have the proper materials for their learning needs, to help with their growth and development.
Adding additional Magna-Tiles to our classroom center will allow each of my students to continue to explore and create in all of our units of discovery, including the themes of transportation and light. I know each of my students will enjoy these items and learn through using them.
