My Project
Our school is actively working to increase STEM implementation throughout the school day. Our youngest students need the opportunity to increase their fine motor skills, imagination, critical thinking, and perseverance through free build time.
They will be able to practice their fine motor skills and critical thinking as they collaborate and build a puzzles together.
Students will engage in multidisciplinary thinking and discussing while they play! These materials will help PK-3 students practice inquiring, problem solving, and collaboration throughout the school year. The computer science standards that will be addressed are WL.K12.IL.8.3: Discuss familiar topics in other subject areas, such as geography, history, music, art, science, math, language, or literature; WL.K12.IM.7.2: Use previously acquired vocabulary to discuss familiar topics in other subject areas such as geography, history, music, art, science, math, language, or literature to reinforce and further knowledge of other disciplines through the target language; SC.K2.CS-CS.6.1: Identify tasks that are made easier because of computers. Some of the ELA standards that will be adressed are ELA.K.R.1.1 Describe the main character(s), setting, and important events in a story and ELA.K.R.3.2: Retell a text orally to enhance comprehension: a)Use main character(s), setting, and important events for a story. b)Use topic and details for an informational text.
