My Project
One of the best ways we learn new things is through music. Think of how many songs you know every word of the lyrics! Music has the power to unlock so much mental capability and that is what I want to do in this project. I play the piano and I'd love to incorporate my love of piano and music, into my Biomedical Classroom.
By writing original songs, practicing the songs together, and then using the songs to review concepts and complicated biomedical terminology, students will drastically improve their ability to recall those not only for tests and quizzes, but for the rest of their entire life!
Music has a profound impact on learning and memory, making it an invaluable tool in any classroom—especially in a Biomedical Science setting, where students must retain complex terminology and concepts. Research has shown that music enhances cognitive function by engaging multiple areas of the brain simultaneously, improving recall and comprehension.
By incorporating musical activities, we can reinforce key lessons about brain function, neuroplasticity, and memory retention. Furthermore, music has been shown to reduce stress and increase focus, creating an environment where students feel more engaged and ready to learn. Beyond its scientific benefits, a digital piano would also provide a creative outlet for students, allowing them to take mental breaks, enhance collaboration, and develop a deeper appreciation for the role of music in health and well-being.
