This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 5th-grade math, and my students love hands-on materials just like I do! I have really learned that students learn best with visuals and with hands-on manipulatives.

I have received the basic manipulatives from my district, but I would love to provide each of my students with a small personal manipulatives bin for them to pull out and solve problems on their own.

I will also be using the color counters, ten-frame sets, clock kit, and dry erase boards for centers, to practice and review skills with my lower students and to help my stronger students better understand more advanced concepts.
