Magical Learning Space for ESL Continued!

Help me give my students a safe and comfortable place to learn and be inspired when they are immigrants to the US and English language learners!

My Project

I'd like to reward my students for their hard work by giving them a work space that they are excited to work in. I also want to have a space for my newcomers or brand new immigrants to the US to feel cozy and comfortable when they first arrive.

In addition to explicit language instruction and ESL strategies, my students work with Educational Technologies like Lexia and Amira.

I've created a cozy living room space with the couches, rug and reading pillows so that students are motivated and comfortable to do the hard work of learning a 2nd language...English! Since creating the ESL living room, ESL students are so excited to come to the room and motivated to sit in the preferred seating areas! The only issue is there are not enough seats and couches for all the students in every group so we would like two more bean bag chairs to complete the area. Also, the ESL room has a wall that is all windows so we need black out curtains so that students can enjoy the area at morning times and not be overwhelmed by the hot Louisiana sun.

My students love surprises and rewards so I can not wait to see their reaction to the new improved ESL living room/ the progress they make in English after we have it!
