This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Kindergarten students enter the classroom with a huge curiosity for learning. A whole group carpet is a staple in a Kindergarten classroom it is a prime area where we gather daily as a classroom community. On our classroom rug, we start our day on a positive note with morning meeting. Throughout the day we gather on our rug area for Math, Phonics , Read Aloud and also during Studios to build with our wooden blocks. Students work and learn more successfully when they are comfortable in their classroom. The colors of the rug act as an organizational tool when it comes to seating charts and grouping certain students together. If I am lucky enough to have this carpet donated to my classroom, I promise it will be so very appreciated by my students and myself!
