This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are starting their life as a lifelong learner. They are gaining confidence and their ability to learn to share and play fairly with others. Many live in apartments and do not have the space to play outside to build their large muscles. Building their large muscles is the gateway to fine muscle movement needed to hold a pencil, crayons, and other small objects. It is my job to help my students to be successful both academically and physically to help further their success in life.
My Project
Please help my 4 to 5-year-old students learn to love and understand the power of reading. Young students learn through play in all areas of their learning. A felt board is a great tool to help young students interact during storytime, building the curiosity of the characters that make up stories. They will be able to retell and sequence stories using manipulative story pieces both in a whole group and small group setting. They will be able to restate the story building their vocabulary and learning about the elements which make up stories.
