My Project
This year I am starting over in a new/old school. The building is charming, built in the 1950s and serving 638 learners. The walls are brick, the paneling is brown, and the cabinets are wooden. There is magic to be made here.
In order to promote executive functioning, I will have tools in the classroom for students to express their ability to maintain the workspace, keep clean workspaces, and strategize systems to keep an organized art studio environment. These materials allow learners to find what they need in order to utilize their art time and to maintain a clean organized space. We will create systems together to strategize best practices for the art space. Students are as involved as I am in creating spaces for supplies to live so that they are not waiting for me to bring them into the room magically. They will have the key to the knowledge and find them themselves - like magic.
