This is where 25 first-graders are introduced to the expectations of collaborative learning for the first time. This experience will provide a safe space to make their foundational skills successful and prepare them for their future. For my young students, this consistent, sensory-friendly space will help reduce distractions, ease anxiety, and make learning feel like a joyful and achievable experience.
The soft surface of the rug also supports students with sensory needs, helping them focus and feel grounded during our most important learning moments.
