Magic Carpet Ride... A Whole New World!

My students need a comfy carpet to use while we are reading and learning. We start many of our mini lesson "gathered" at the rug, and my students would love to have a comfortable seat.

My Students

I have a great group of students who dream big and always want to achieve more. In the classroom, we are always looking for more ways to collaborate, create, think critically, and share our learning. School provides us with nutrition, safety, and a drive for learning. My students are active, and love to learn use all their flexible seating options in our classroom.

My students are collaborative, innovative, imaginative, and eager to learn!

We enjoy choices because we understand that we are all different types of learners. Our teacher, Ms. Nakashima, emphasizes that we all are unique but we still need to collaborate and cooperate; giving a voice to all of the students in our classroom including the shyest and quietest students. We are a team in B-1!

My Project

We need a classroom carpet with a non-slip rug pad, that makes us feel "ready to learn" on. We often gather on the carpet to start our mini lessons, and then the students find their "study spot". Many of them choose to remain on the carpet because they love sitting or laying down while learning. My students believe in flexible seating, which means they get to choose where they sit in order to learn best.

Our carpet is the home to scientists, historians, readers, explorers, mathematicians, and so many more!

This special place is where a lot of our learning takes place and it's much more welcoming than a cold, tile floor. It's our special place where we are eager to learn, explore new concepts, and even new places!
