Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher at a Title I, fine arts magnet school. My students are from different economics backgrounds. The majority of them are economically disadvantaged. Their home settings range from two-parent to single-parent homes. A majority of my students are of Spanish culture (or descent) or African-American.
My students are innovative, hard working, and most importantly, dreamers.
We focus on student-led education. My students display their eagerness to learn, and most importantly, the character traits that come with persistence and resilience.
My Project
My students are in need of a new magic rug to enhance their learning experiences. A rug with enough room for each child to sit and that limits distraction or conflicts that can interrupt much needed instructional time is much needed.
Learning space is so important when it comes to a child's capacity and ability to learn.
We currently have a rug that does not accommodate 25+ children, especially since they are constantly growing. This tool will enhance our whole group experience and will be beneficial to the help of students since it is a new and clean classroom rug
More than half of students from low‑income households
