My Students
Situated in a small town, our school is a Title I school with a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced lunch. Our classroom is full of students who have multiple abilities and are working to overcome many roadblocks.
Each day when my students walk into my classroom, my goal is to immerse them in meaningful experiences that will motivate and inspire them.
My team and I work hard to provide experiences that will create opportunities for growth and learning.
My Project
These five magazine subscriptions that I have chosen, include a variety of magazines that will provide my students with opportunities to explore a different form of literacy. Magazine titles include OWL, Click, ASK, Ranger RIck and Ranger Rick jr. I have also asked for magazine racks to use to provide my students easy access to these materials My students are all reluctant readers and will be thrilled to have new magazines to explore.
Providing my students with a selection of authentic, quality magazines to read and explore will provide them with new opportunities to be immersed in literacy.
Having a set of magazines that will arrive each month will provide my students with fresh articles, advertisements and even photos to explore. These magazines will serve as a catalyst for many lessons and discussions involving media, literacy and our world.
