My Students
My students love to read. Recently, they became interested in magazines and I hope to provide a variety of periodicals to meet their diverse needs and interests.
My students are real readers.
Many of my students come from homes where there is not money available for magazine subscriptions, as 100% of our school receives free lunch. To build a love of reading, I try to offer my students a print-rich classroom that truly values literacy. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, there is not money available for magazine subscriptions.
My Project
While my classroom has tons of high-interest books, it is severely lacking in the periodical department. We have an old set of National Geographic and Ranger Rick, but they have definitely seen their better days.
I would like to be able to offer these new magazines that feature non-fiction articles, fictional stories, current events, comics, letters to the editor... I've selected a variety of children's magazines that will interest my diverse students.
I appreciate your support of our classroom.
Through previous generous donations, my students have become lifelong readers. Please continue to foster their love of reading by updating our classroom library with magazines. What a wonderful gift you can give.
