Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher an ETK (Extended Transitional Kindergarten) full day preschool program. It introduces preschool age students (ages 4-5) to a public school setting. I teach at a Title I school in a small suburb outside of a major city. The majority of my students are Hispanic, and many come from low income families.

Most of my students either have not attended any preschool program or only attended a 2-3 hour a day program.

The ETK program allows parents who work to have a quality preschool program for six hours each day with a credentialed teacher. We offer free breakfast to all students and have free and reduced lunch.

My Project

My students would benefit from the donation of a MacBook because the MacBook would support student learning as well as my growth and professional development. Through the use of the MacBook, I would be able to participate in educational webinars to further and advance myself to continue to provide fun, engaging, educational, and enriching lessons to my students. Apple offers many online courses that can help me create a digital environment in my class and that would benefit my future students. Having a MacBook would allow me to participate webinars, and have access to educational apps. I believe that a MacBook would allow me to develop and integrate technology into my lessons. My goal is to build my knowledge and use of technology as a pivotal part of my instruction so that I can provide a diverse learning environment that is crucial to all my students' various learning needs.
