Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Technology is everywhere! Technology has become one of the classroom supplies that students need to learn today. Not all of my students can access a device of their own so having laptops in the classroom makes their learning more accessible. Getting the right technological equipment in my classroom ensures that my students will access various programs and digital tools so they can do their assignments and enhance their skills.
Having the latest technology for my students to use will make an invaluable difference in my students' learning!
Many of my students are learning English as a second language and/or have challenges with their learning and reading comprehension. Devices are a great way to build their reading because there are visuals and audio, it is interactive, and they get immediate feedback. My instruction includes various learning programs such as iXL, iReady, Imagine Learning, and Achieve 300 that help students build their reading comprehension, vocabulary, writing skills, grammar skills, and listening skills. They also have digital access to the textbook that is used in my instruction and they access Office 365 and Canva to create presentations, essays, and other types of documents.
Therefore, having the latest Macbook Air offers a faster RAM and processor that makes it easier to access those programs. Apple computers also have an app called" Classroom" where I can work collaboratively on an assignment with my students as they work on their laptops. Please help fund my project so we can have another device in the classroom for the students to use to enhance their learning.
