This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from families who are hoping to see their children be the first to graduate from college. As the head of student support, I am charged with the task of ensuring ALL of our students have a chance at college success.

As more of our classrooms incorporate "flipped" or "blended" learning models, I can see my students without easy access to computers at home falling behind.

We find that more and more students are asking to check computers out so they can use them in class or at home to complete projects, exhibitions, labs, portfolios, presentations, art projects, college applications, scholarship searches, etc. Access to a computer in a library is very different than access to a laptop in the privacy and comfort of your own home. I'd love to offer consistent access to computers to my most financially struggling students and their families.

My Project

The laptop in this proposal includes 1 MacBook Air. It is vital for students' completion of art projects on iMovie, GarageBand, Keynote, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Many times students would like to work on these programs at home, but don't have access to a computer with these programs. A MacBook for check-out will solve this problem.

With your donation, you are putting a computer into the lap of a student who would otherwise be relegated to the back of the technological line.

In the current educational environment, students with access to technology have greater access to online resources, applications, tools, and success. Thank you for your support!
