This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The students at my school are inquisitive, creative, and compassionate. My students come from diverse backgrounds where English is their second language. This is a Title I school, meaning more than 89% of the student body comes from a low socioeconomic background. The students receive free or reduced-price lunch and often are recent immigrants from other countries.
My students enter the classroom with curious minds and are very eager to learn.
They come to school each day ready to try new things and grow both academically and personally. The method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We do our very best to incorporate a variety of different learning strategies and learning options to ensure that each of the students' needs is being met.
My Project
Through professional development, I will be able to acquire new teaching strategies through the online professional development of the Common Core State Standards and STEM planning. I will be able to use this MacBook when I attend live professional development to increase my knowledge of technology. My district offers online courses that I can enroll in and participate in online. I will be able to submit all required coursework and documents online with the MacBook Pro as well as participate in live conversations and lessons. It will also help me to work on formal and informal assessments, Desired Results, CTARS, Common Core and Unique.
Technology should not just be a gimmick to motivate learning, it should open a whole new world of possibilities for learning - David Geurin.
I will be able to utilize my MacBook to integrate technology into my lessons in a more modern way. The MacBook will allow me the ability to integrate my knowledge and enhance my teaching. I am also asking for a mouse to use with the laptop and a sleeve to store it.
