Help me give my students diverse books, red envelopes, chocolate coins and bowls for ramen as we learn about the Lunar New Year to acknowledge and celebrate diverse cultural celebrations.
Our classroom is a tight-knit community in which we build trust and relationships to learn in a meaningful way together. We build our community and bridge individuals to make connections through the stories we share, books we read, and art we create. I respect each child for who they are and want my fourth graders to feel visible and valued. What better way to do this than by learning about celebrations around the globe?
The learning experiences we share by reading books and cooking up some noodles to eat together are what keep us connected and give us a sense of togetherness as my students value their own identities as well as their classmates in our inclusive learning community!
Lunar New Year is upon us and to spark cultural curiosity and celebrate this holiday well read books, make ramen, and receive red envelopes with chocolate coins as we connect as a community of learners.
In the new year we aim to learn more about the cultural backgrounds of our classmates and members in our community to strengthen our inclusive classroom and engage all students in learning. We appreciate you supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in our fourth grade classroom!
