Help me give my students ways to keep learning fun and engaging! We want to be good readers, good mathematicians, good citizens, and good problem solvers!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our first graders love being active in their learning. We are going to be using puzzles to promote problem solving and critical thinking. Magnet and felt pieces will help students with independent learning to retell stories, create sentences, and build on reading skills. I love sending books home for kids to read in case they do not have any. Unfortunately they have a lot of wear and tear. I will use the new readers sets to send home and provide students with the books to read. Another one of our standards for social studies is to learn about community helpers. The puzzles will help reinforce our learning about people in our communities and their jobs. All of these items will help promote teamwork and communication skills that were taken away during Covid years. These will help our students practice them and get better.
