Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken community.
Our school consists of a very large English language learner population.
All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs of school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.
I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer and I am determined to help them get it.
These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.
My Project
Another month, another request: St. Patrick's and March Madness books. So here is our latest project: Lucky Books! When I started to looking at my March book supply, it surprisingly had very few books. That's why this project was born.
Help us get lucky with reading in March!
Throughout the month of February we read lots of fiction. In March, we transition to the mythology readings. These books will go a long in helping teach students of the classics like: Jack in the Beanstalk. But...with a twist. With so many versions of the classics, it's important to compare and contrast. With your help, maybe we'll get "lucky" and get to read these phenomenal books!
