This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thank you so much for funding our DonorsChoose last year! You provided our classes with the equipment needed to practice measuring and to enjoy a closer look at organisms with our new microscopes.

For the upcoming year we wish to further empower our young scientists with opportunities to conduct the key experiments that correlate to Montessori Great Lessons.

One of the easiest ways we've seen to do this is to create a shoebox-size tub of materials already arranged for each experiment. You'll see these included in our requests! We also dream of having real dishes for each child in their mess kits, and to wash them in the classroom. You'll notice our washbasins, aprons, scrubbers, etc. to support this endeavor. Other materials in the list are to help support our efforts of keeping our classroom community clean and orderly through cleaning supplies and storage. Additionally, research projects become extremely important in the elementary years. Our children need more resources than the limits of our online database (without resorting to Google!), and we would love to offer them a set of encyclopedias to access. This set will be housed in our hallway resource library, although we hope to one day have a set for every classroom!
