My classroom is unique, and I teach a life skills class. Each of my students is gifted in their own beautiful ways. My students have learning difficulties, but they are amazing, incredible learners.
Our classroom is set up differently than most classrooms to better meet the needs of our students.
In my classroom, we do stations so that my students are in very small groups. In this way, we are better able to meet the needs of each learner.
My classroom focuses on academic learning but also provides students the opportunities to develop and practice necessary life skills. Developing these skills early helps to promote success for my students.
In my classroom, students have the opportunity to read books during our rotations for reading. Typically we have a shared classroom library that each student can rotate through with seasonal and themed books on display.
Having more book options for students would be so beneficial for our students.
Currently, we have our books spread out among the students. Having more books to add to student book tubs would allow students more variety and choice.
