Hi! I am entering into my 21st year of teaching in a Title 1, Public School in Flushing, NY. I am the General Education teacher in an ICT, Third Grade class, which is comprised of 30 students from a variety of backgrounds. 60% of my students are general education students, many of which who are new to the county, and therefore require a lot of learning/language support, and 40% of my students have IEP's, which is an education plan to assist their learning due to some type of disability. My students LOVE to learn, and they genuinely enjoy and cherish the small group moments we have together... as do I.
Each and every day, my co-teacher and I pull small groups of students in order to reinforce lessons that were taught, using different strategies and tools to help our students be successful learners.
Having this half-moon table would enable the children to work in a comfortable space, with minimal distraction, as it can be moved toward different areas of the classroom. This small group teaching allows our students to build their confidence, and it minimizes their fear and frustration when they struggle to comprehend various lessons.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
