My Students

Each year, despite book drives and Scholastic book orders, we lose many books...they simply never return to the classroom!

My students are really enthusiastic readers.

Many are excited about the newest books, but many others are willing to try out a recommended book, even if it's one that was published before their lifetime. We are a gifted and talented school in New York.

My Project

Having resources to catalog books will ensure that they circulate rapidly and efficiently. Having resources to repair books and prevent damage will save us from having to constantly replace titles. Many students have already volunteered to help organize our new library system. This project will both allow my students access to many more books but it will also help them develop the responsibility to both organize and maintain a lending library in our ELA classroom!

My students need a way to keep track of their independent reading books.

Having a dynamic lending library will ensure that books are returned and returned in good shape! These supplies will dramatically improve our classroom and our reading habits!
