My Project
I am a second grade teacher at a Title 1 school who is aspiring to create a safe and loving classroom for all types of students. Due to the effects of COVID, students have been struggling emotionally and need a space where their diverse needs are being met.
Providing students with flexible seating will help students foster learning in a way that feels best for them.
Flexible seating allows students to move around the room, feel comfortable and safe. It makes learning feel meaningful and personalized. Social and emotional needs will also be met with a calm down corner where students can go when they are overwhelmed and need a space to regulate their emotions.
