I teach a self contained class in the heart of Brooklyn, Brighton Beach! My students are Special Education students who are being prepared for the middle school. Most of my students live in poverty and I go above and beyond to meet their needs daily. They have so much fun learning the skills they need to be successful. I love to make their learning creative and enjoyable. When I increase my knowledge with the use of current technology, it reflects in my lessons, instruction, and their achievements.
My Project
I would like to request a MacBook to assist me with accessing a wider variety of professional development opportunities in and using current technology. A MacBook would allow and help me to access Apple's Education modules on the web. Apple offers and has many online courses through iTunes U and podcasts that can help me create a digital environment in my class and that would benefit my future students. Having a MacBook would allow me to participate webinars, and have access to educational apps. I have seen how some of my peers have integrated technology their classrooms and I believe that a MacBook would allow me to develop and integrate technology into my lessons. My goal is to build my knowledge and use of technology as a pivotal part of my instruction so that I can provide a diverse learning environment that is crucial to all my students' various learning needs.
My classroom environment will be greatly improved with the addition of a MacBook because it will allow me to integrate technology that would improve, my students' learning outcomes through the curriculum and technology usage.
