My students need listening center activities (a Listen & Learn Phonics Activity Program and a Word Family Activity Program) to use during literacy centers to help build their word study skills.
My students love to listen and love to learn! Help them expand their word family knowledge and phonics skills by donating to our project and giving us a valuable classroom resource! My students absolutely LOVE to use the listening center and will adore their new activities!
My First Grade cuties live in the city of brotherly love, and they LOVE to learn!
They attend a high poverty school and we do not have access to the more modern technologies such as a SMART board or even modern computers for our classroom. Our listening center is a cherished and highly utilized resource. With the major budget challenges our district is facing, my little darlings will certainly not be seeing updated technology added to their classroom anytime soon.
My Project
Having more activities for students to do at the listening center will help to increase student success throughout various disciplines in the classroom. At the listening center, students succeed independently and grow confident in their abilities as a reader. They gain comprehension skills and fluency skills. They work on their listening skills by following the directions during the activities. With their new phonics and word family listening center sets, students will be able to get extra practice with letter pairs or sounds they are focusing on in their word study groups.
Due to a lack of resources, students have grown tired of the same old listening center books that they have listened to up to 3 different times this school year!
When the students see new activities for them to use at the listening center, they will light up! By providing my children with more activities and a variety of learning tools, you are giving them so much more than just a listening center activity.
