My students need to use their STEM center so I am looking to get a light table and the materials to use with it.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Chabus's classroom raised $566

My Students
My students love to come to school, where for some of them it's the only place they feel safe and loved. I love teaching them and they are not without their challenges. So many of them have lived a life I could never imagine. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn make me strive to find a variety of programs and materials to enhance the curriculum so they can enjoy learning so much more. My students come with a variety of skill levels since some this is their first experience with school and they lack the basic foundation to move forward with their education.
My Project
Why is STEM important in education, you ask?
"STEM education creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators.
Innovation leads to new products and processes that sustain our economy." My students have very few opportunities to work on STEM based products. I would love to lay the foundation for their future. By exposing students to STEM and giving them opportunities to explore STEM-related concepts, they will develop a passion for it and someday pursue a career in a STEM field.
I am requesting a Lakeshore space saver light table for my classroom and the translucent manipulatives for my students to use with the table. I also hoping to get a Vehicle Building Engineering Center and geostix in the hopes is will spark their imagination and make them life long creaters.
By exposing my students to STEM programs early in their academic career will lay the groundwork for continued excellence.
