it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a diverse setting, encouraging high school students to utilize critical thinking to learn about business, technology, the environment, government, history, health and wellness. About the school: Our senior high school is located in Florida. Students attending this school must apply to one of the three academies: Marine Biology, Business, Leadership and Technology (BLT), or The Humanities. Students in ninth through twelfth grades take rigorous courses such as Advanced Placement, Cambridge, and Dual Enrollment (College Courses at Miami-Dade College). Our student population includes various learners such as English Language Learners (ELL), the Gifted, and Exceptional Students Education (students with disabilities).

My Project
In my Pre-AICE Business course, Ninth-grade students are charged with creating a real-world business as youth entrepreneurs. Students learn best by applying real-life skills, from leading and managing their company, Love in a Box, to selling products and services. After two years of being impacted by COVID, everyone needs a little love. Love in a Box allows students an opportunity to pitch their product to other students and the school community, building relationships through communication and engagement.
Love in a Box consists of a physical box, crinkle paper, candy, and a photo capturing a memorable experience.
Not only will this project help my students apply business skills, but it will also allow the customers (other students) to foster positive relations and give them a cherishable memory of high school.
