My Students
My awesome students are a diverse set of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder! This year, there are 12 spots in the classroom, which about 7 are currently filled. The students range from Kindergarten through Second Grade. I have had the opportunity to either work or interact with each student.
All children are able to learn despite any birth complications, economic disadvantages, or developmental delays.
My students are amazing and my team and I have high expectations for their continued growth!
My Project
The materials I selected are to help advance our students in areas of communication, reading comprehension, fine motor skills, phonological awareness, and behavior management.
Many of my students are near or on grade-level!
Some of their interests/abilities include reading ANY AND EVERYTHING, memorizing (EVERY) subway train routes, and matching words-to-words. In my opinion, behavior management is the key to educating students. With items, such as, vibrotactile fidgets, students can remain in a designated area during whole group, for a longer duration. Our students and families can benefit from each item selected. Even the toner will be used for special education paperwork and resources.
