My Students
I am a pre-kindergarten Education Coach helping to educate and support amazing 3, 4, and 5-year-old students in an urban district. I am the education coach for 11 pre-k classrooms throughout our district. All of the students receive the free lunch program provided by our district. The students are learning how to be caring, responsible, respectful, and educated young children during this most unusual time of E-Learning because of the Covid pandemic and they are doing amazing with the task that was presented to them!
I love the students' enthusiasm for learning every day.
When they are online with their teachers, they are engaged while learning language arts and math skills, science and social studies concepts, social-emotional calming techniques, songs, and fingerplays.
My Project
Our pre-kindergarten students have been learning virtually almost all year long. Now that we are back into the classroom, they are able to go outside to the playground and learn how to ride a bike. The bikes that we have at the school need to be replaced because they don't have pedals and they are simply worn out. Students naturally like riding bikes. It is a skill that they will use throughout their life time. Biking allows the students to develop their entire body muscles. Riding a bike allows the students to boost their confidence and allows the students to become aware of their body and their surroundings. Biking is a great stress reliever and is very therapeutic. It helps students stay focused because they are ultimately in control of their bike. Biking allows the students to practice coordination skills and self-control skills which are so important.
