Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having this area rug will create a cozy and calm corner for students to sit during all varieties of instruction. Students will especially feel comfortable during their center times, where they are able to work with group members and partners in reading and writing.
In addition to this, at the end of the week my students always host a classroom store.
Students use money that they have earned for positive behavior and participation throughout the week. This rug will give my students a beautiful space to spread out their classroom store items so others may go and shop. Having this school store is not only a reward system, but it is a way of teaching students financial responsibility.
