My Project
This year for our Valentines party I would like to have my students make calming jars. We have been working very hard to find ways to help regulate our emotions. One of the things that has worked best for us has been calming jars. I think it would be fun for my students to make their own to take home and have to keep by their bed. The embellishments that have been requested in this project will be used inside of their calming jars. A calming jar works best when students have something to focus on. Calming jars are amazing because the kids shake up the jar and watch the items in the jar slowly fall to the bottom. The items are able to slowly fall to the bottom because mixture used to create this jar is glue and water. The glue helps slow the items down creating a calm space for the student.This helps students breathe calmly and regulate their emotions. The ribbon being requested will be used to tie a cute little bow around their jar, and will also be used for various art projects that will be done throughout the school year.
