Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of the goals of Pre-K is to teach independence. Learning to tie shoes and learning to put on and zipper or button your own jacket are just a couple of the skills that are focused on. A great deal of time is spent zippering and tying shoes throughout the day.
These are life skills that will be used throughout the lives of my young learners.
Providing them with a learning center where they can be coached and taught the steps to master these skills is the focus of this project. The kinetic sand, lacing sneakers, and other resources will provide opportunities for the students to strengthen their fine motor skills to prepare them to practice zippering, buttoning and tying laces while having fun!
