My Project
Loom knitting has provided students with a creative outlet for self-expression, a sense of accomplishment when completing projects, as well as a tool for supporting others and giving back.
This year students have been spending their free time loom knitting hats and donating them to local shelters. Their next community outreach project will support our school's Unified Sports team by loom-knitting team hats and scarves. (Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual and physical disabilities on the same team.) We need chunky orange yarn to reach our goal of providing each player with a team hat and scarf.
