Looky Here... Our Time to Get Organized Is Nearly Here!

My students need binders, highlighters, tab dividers, storage cases, and various organizational materials to keep organized throughout the school day in order to promote independence and academic success.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. O'Hara's classroom raised $455

My Students

I currently teach a unique group of diverse students ranging in various grade levels. The students within my groups face a variety of social-emotional, independent functioning and organizational challenges that can make functioning in a productive manner day to day, very stressful and overwhelming for them.

My students are eager, curious and fun loving diverse learners.

All of my students come to school each day with different challenges i.e. academic, social-emotional, behavioral, etc. Many of my students live within poverty stricken areas and don't always have the most up-to date materials, access to different educational opportunities, or even strategies to help them cope with their areas of challenge as students in our surrounding communities may have. Their struggles to learn can be great, but their spirits are high. They are challenged most with learning appropriate behaviors, keeping academic goals in mind, and day-to-day functioning. They always try to put forth their best efforts even when working with teacher made, hand-me-down, and make shift materials. My students currently need various items to establish and maintain organization such as; 3 ring binders, full adhesive post its, tab dividers, and pencil cases, etc.

My Project

If gifted these materials my students will begin learning how to be more independent by self-monitoring their organization. My students will also be able to establish an organizational system that works for them to promote academic success. The ways in which my students will use these resources are; the 3 ring binders and tab dividers to organize their materials (worksheets, handouts, homework, and etc.)., the pencil cases to keep track of writing utensils, the storage bins to manage lose materials within their crates, highlighters to track important information within a text/assignment, and etc. The possibilities of how these materials can be incorporated into their daily organization are endless. I am also requesting a variety of teacher stamps.

I am eager to see my students take ownership of their learning and to accomplish great things!

My students will hopefully see the the academic and social emotional benefits of remaining organized as they will be able to keep track of homework, classwork, and unfinished work. I am looking forward to empowering my students and giving them tools they need to be successful.
