My Students

I can't think of any day this year where my students would not have benefited from having multiple digital cameras in the art classroom. From project documentation, to final portfolios to just learning to use a camera, everyone in every class could benefit.

My students are incredibly creative, giving, and hardworking.

They work together to help everyone reach their goals. Many of my students do not have digital cameras or access to a digital camera, and it isn't uncommon for students to offer to share their cellphones with cameras to capture an image for another student. My students want their classmates to succeed, but often the cameras on a cellphone create low quality images or students have to pay text messaging rates to send the photo.

My Project

Classroom digital cameras will allow my students to prepare their own images to create a digital portfolio of their work. They will be able to capture their own reference images to use for projects and avoid plagiarizing another artist's work. With classroom cameras my students will learn basic technology skills by uploading and saving images and also basic composition skills when taking a photograph and editing the photograph.

Digital cameras for the classroom will provide my students a much needed resource for documenting the progression of their works, developing final portfolios and learning basic technology and photography skills.

They will also help to close the financial gap between my students and allow everyone the same opportunities for success.
