Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are children with disabilities. They attend school in a high need area. However, this doesn't stop them from hoping to one day become writers, doctors, and yes, even a lawyer. Yes,my students are dreamers, believers and they all have hope for future.
My students are kind and wonderful third graders.
Their disabilities range from emotional to learning disable. However, to know them is to love them. I teach in a high need area and there is a shortage of materials and supplies for my classroom, however, when my students say "they like coming to school, because learning is fun." I can't help but think, how lucky I am to be in the company of angels.
My Project
I know that these resources will change my students' lives for the better simply because it will enable me to differentiate my teaching instructions more effectively. Using the hot dots, will enable my students to use the literacy centers and the buddy system, while I assist others in the classroom who are at a different reading level. My goal as a teacher is that each and every one of my students progresses throughout the school year, regardless of their academic level at the start of the school term.
Each and every donor who supports this project will be making a difference in a child's life.
I have not come a across a child yet who doesn't get a thrill from learning something new. The best light in the world is to look in the eyes of children when they have discovered or learned something new. Just imagine yourself looking through the window with a child with nothing but their whole future ahead of them. What might you instill in them?
