My Project
Our students have the opportunity to work one on one with a TRIO teacher to dissect brains and hearts. I learned as much as the students last year when I saw the inner working of a heart, and I had never realized how the valve functioned. We will be able to cut open the heart to see all of the chambers and how they interact as parts to a whole.
The students will be able to see what the lobes of the brain are like.
One big helpful thing about this work is that those students that are a little squeamish about organs and cutting will either get used to it, or learn that it is not for them. It can aid as a career decider.
