My Students
My second graders are naturally inquisitive and eager to learn more about everything we discuss in class. They are a diverse group, with many individual needs. It's often a challenge to meet these needs with limited resources.
In spite of all the obstacles, they are eager and enthusiastic learners who light up when they learn something new!
It is amazing to watch my students when they make a connection and get so excited. My job is to eliminate as many hurdles as possible to allow them to make those connections.
My Project
These tools will help my students manage their emotions as they return to school after a difficult year last year. Students will be able to use the cushions for movement breaks and creating space when needed. Students will use markers and playdough to creatively express their feelings.
We will use the conversation cards and books as ways to build our classroom community through conversations about inclusion and how to treat each other.
The growth mindset journals will encourage students to keep pushing themselves and never give up on themselves even when things are challenging as they return to school this year.
