This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With all the new advantages to technology, I want my students to have access to devices for storing and saving their work and their memories. Being a teacher in the highest poverty district in America, it is difficult to fund items for extra storage of my students work.
My students live in a high poverty district where there is little to no funding available to teachers to create and save their work on computers.
The students I teach are creative, motivated and willing to work when they have use to technology that they may not have at home.
My Project
My students are willing to create a yearbook using my camera, however I need memory and storage for the pictures. I've set up accounts on the few computers I have access to, allowing each individual student to set up their own storage area of all the work they do with lab inquiry projects and activities. Our problem is that the computers we have do not have the memory to hold all of their work, so I would like to provide blank DVDs to each student to save their reports for future reference and knowledge.
As many of you probably have is a yearbook, memories from your childhood that make you stronger and have made that little difference to wake you up in the morning and start you off happy.
I care about my students and want them to succeed and to look back and remember the good times. I believe creating a yearbook, pictures, etc. will give my students that extra push. Plus, many of my students are willing to stay after school for extra tutoring and to work on the yearbook. Keep them learning!
