My Project

Hello,

Several of my 6th-grade students have significant difficulty in reading and writing.

Their reading fluency is notably impaired, as they read slowly and struggle to decode unfamiliar words. This challenge has an impact on their overall reading comprehension. Additionally, they exhibit very poor spelling skills.

Students consistently struggle to spell and write.

As a 6th-grade ELA special education teacher, it is evident that my students have trouble with phonics and decoding words. My students need additional tools and resources that are not available in a middle-grade setting. Despite the students' motivation, they struggle to read and write.

I humbly ask for help providing a way to help my student. I need to meet my students where they are in reading and I need resources to do so. The reading strips will help with focus. I need pencils, markers, reading flip charts, and folders to help group students. My students didn’t receive early intervention, but I can provide tailored strategies now to support their educational journey.
