My Students

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths" Walt Disney.

I teach amazing 4th graders that are eager and happy to learn.

They are curious about everything. They are smart and creative and I am amazed at what great problem solvers they are.

It is my deepest desire as an educator to inspire my students to achieve, learn, dream and succeed. Through technology we can unleash the magic that is "learning". Imagine a learning environment where students can associate with many mathematical concepts and use familiar tools. Familiar tools will always get the job done fast and efficient. My students deserve the best.

My Project

One of the most innovative technological concepts currently available is the idea of using robots for teaching children. Robotics is a fascinating field that can benefit students in elementary school.

Bit coding robots can be programmed to move around the classroom as well as to do more complex activities such as playing games or dancing.

This robot can be taught up to 500 different moves to recreate customized dances or tasks set to music. By drawing color-coded patterns called OzoCodes, Ozobot can be programmed to respond to different colors with different actions. A sensor located on the bottom of Ozobot allows it to follow the pattern of the lines that are drawn. This fun approach to learning helps kids to acquire deductive reasoning and learn basic programming.

The game SET also helps students with their deductive reasoning skills along with virtual perception, spacial relationships, and critical thinking. Both the Bots and the game will keep a student's brain healthy and active. We will use the bins and 'turn in' baskets to help us be organized in our classroom.
