This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Everyone is an artist, even a mermaid! All students come to the art room excited and ready to get their creative youthful imagination to work! We want to make a mermaid artist sculpture for the art room as a school wide project, using recycled materials. Since we are in South Florida, the ocean is a big influence in our community. I am always trying to get the little artists aware that you can create art with various materials in a fun way that they will remember.

We have been saving cardboard to start, but we need the glue gun and glue sticks to make sure it stays strong. We need the masking tape to help form the mermaid. Of course, sharpies and glue sticks get used up and constantly need to be replaced.

With the constant pressure of testing, the art room is a great place to be a kid, relax and create, I'm trying to make it the best place possible so they can cherish their time doing art! ART IS GREAT FOR THE HEART!
