Look Out Fifth Grade, Here We Come!

Help me give my students a warm and welcoming fifth grade classroom, with bulletin board decorations, reading corner lights, and small group file folders.

My Project

This project will provide my upcoming fifth graders with a beautiful, welcoming classroom this August! I teach at a Title I school located in Central Florida, 98% of students at my school are eligible for free or reduced-price lunches. Next year, my partner teacher and I will teach all subjects to our fifth graders.

This project will help me create a fun, welcoming environment for my fifth grade students.

With this project, we will be able to create a beautiful reading corner equipped with a tall, colorful light as well as rope lighting to decorate our entire classroom. This project will also provide us with fabric to decorate our bulletin board with and a beautiful, bright, bulletin board border for all of our bulletin boards. I have used the same border and fabric for the past four years, it is starting to become very dull and faded. These materials will make students excited to be in my classroom and ready to learn!

This project will also equip our calm-down area with desk accessories and organizers which students can use while they are utilizing this space to calm down. They will be able to write, draw or just relax to take a break from whatever is bothering them.
