Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember when you were in school and you were able to be at a listening center to enhance your fluency skills? Well, that is not the case for my students. Unfortunately, our classroom lacks the necessary equipment to help them access the content of numerous reading lessons through a listening center
My students are highly enthusiastic learners who attend a Title 1 school in the inner city.
Many of them qualify to receive free or reduced lunch meals. Fourteen of them are English language learners. Although English is the primary home language for the rest of my students, several of them need to practice their reading skills in order to improve their fluency.
Our district currently implemented a new reading program. However, my students have not been able to access many of the instructional support materials due to the lack of a CD player and headphones.
My Project
With a new CD player, my struggling readers will finally have a listening center that will help strengthen their literacy skills. They will have the opportunity to hear stories that emphasize good phrasing and expression in reading.
The wireless headphones will enable my students to focus on their listening and reading skills rather than waste time getting distracted by tangled cords.
Your donations to this project will definitely help my struggling students progress and reach their individual reading goals.
Please help them achieve their goal. Thank you for your support.
